This course is designed to equip therapists with crucial skills and knowledge for addressing sexuality and sexual health issues. It encompasses fundamental aspects of sexual anatomy and functions, as well as more complex topics such as sexual dysfunctions and paraphilias. You will gain expertise in sexual terminology, sexuality across different life stages, diverse sexual expressions, and specific areas such as working with victims of sexual abuse, as well as characteristics and behavior patterns of offenders.  By enrolling, you’ll acquire the tools necessary to handle sexual health concerns with confidence and empathy, enhancing your ability to support clients effectively in your practice.

Course Description:
• Comprehensive understanding of human sexuality
• Techniques to address common sexual health concerns
• An understanding of sexual disorders, paraphilias, and techniques for treatment
• Strategies for inclusive and culturally competent practice
• Integration of sexual health discussions into therapy sessions
• An understanding of “Why we do what we do” when it comes to sex
• Ethical guidelines and professional standards when working with sexuality and sexual health
• Compact course encompassing all topics and information related to sexuality and sexual health
• Continuing Education Credit Available: 16 NBCC credit hours

The participant will demonstrate a better understanding of
• Understand the fundamental concepts of human sexuality and sexual health.
• Identify and address common sexual health concerns and dysfunctions.
• Explore the diversity of sexual expression and orientation.
• Integrate sexual health discussions into therapeutic practice effectively.
• Apply ethical considerations and professional standards in sexual health counseling.
